Hetal Desai embarked on her Yog journey at the age of 36, inspired by her father's unwavering dedication to fitness. Prior to that, she had an illustrious career as an anchor on All India Radio and television, lending her voice to numerous advertisements. It was at Yogsadhna Ashram where she received her initial formal training, graduating from the Teachers Training Course. Not content to rest on her laurels, she further honed her skills by completing a Yog course from M.S. University, and her thirst for knowledge led her to Pune, where she studied under the renowned Shri B.K.S. Iyengar. There, she delved into the intricacies of teaching Yog with props and using Yog as therapy.
Hetal Desai made significant strides in popularizing Iyengar Yoga in Gujarat, becoming the first person to introduce this form of Yoga in the region. Through her expertise, she has been able to alleviate the troubles of over 20000 individuals. Her dedication to sharing her knowledge has also seen her train more than 250 people as Yoga teachers. Today, as a testament to her hard work and commitment, there are five branches of her Yogcenters established in Ahmedabad.
Her impact extends beyond physical spaces, as she has reached a vast audience through media platforms. Hetal Desai has hosted over 3500 episodes on Yog, aired on channels such as DD Girnar, Colors Gujarati, and others. Additionally, she has conducted more than 2000 radio talks on the subject of Yoga.
Hetal Desai’s journey exemplifies a passionate pursuit of knowledge and an unwavering dedication to promoting the benefits of Yog to the masses. Through her teachings and media presence, she has left a significant and positive mark on the world of Yoga in Gujarat and beyond.
